21 Day Fast Encouragements - GIVE TO THE POOR- ADAM MILLER - 01/24/16 - New Life Coevnant Cincinnati

GIVE TO THE POOR

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done. If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD — and He will repay you! (Proverbs 19:17, NIV & NLT)

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. 2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. 3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. (Psalm 41:1-3)

Now, in our 15th day of the Daniel Fast, I hope that we're having a "Turn the Corner" experience, spiritually and physically.  One day, I was looking into my closet for something and the Holy Spirit turned my focus to the right side...seeing all the slacks, shirts and sweaters I had out-grown, but was holding onto.  I was hoping one day, to be able to fit them again.

Huh! Fat chance!  I believe God focused my attention on the clothing, so as to fulfill Matthew 25:36a.  "I was naked and you did not clothe me..."
Let's face it.  Fasting is not only the shedding of some body weight, but the inward shedding of those weights and sins that have continued to trip us up, slow us down and at times, bring us face to face with seemingly insurmountable "walls" in our lives (Heb. 12:1)

I began to hear in the Spirit, the joys of those, as they received the clothing I was willing to part with.  "Ahh!  Ohhh!  I'm so happy!  Thank you, Lord for the blessing!"  See, we may not have money to feed or house others, but I believe we all have clothing we can "give away" even now.

This is our season, brothers and sisters; this is our time.  Let's give to those, who have need, as unto the Lord!
